LOCKPORT – Richelle “Ricki” B. Clark pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court Friday to a reduced charge of misdemeanor third-degree assault after admitting she had used her vehicle to injure a woman late last year.
Clark, 41, of Washington Street, originally had been charged with first-degree and second-degree assault after she tried to run her boyfriend down, but instead hit a woman as the pair was standing in front of a Hawley Street convenience store in Lockport on Nov. 8, 2012.
According to police Clark had continued to chase the boyfriend with the vehicle, running over the grass behind the store until he was able to flee to safety.
The woman was badly injured when she rolled over the hood and then landed on the grass, according to Assistant District Attorney Joel Grundy.
Clark appeared in court with a broken leg unrelated to the case and State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. allowed her to remain free on her own recognizance until sentencing on Dec. 6.
