The Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce in Ontario has launched the Niagara Exporters Council, aimed at bolstering exports by small- and medium-size companies.

Members of the council will include businesses from advanced manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and agri-food, clean technology, biosciences and marine transportation.

“With the Canadian dollar at the lowest it has been in four years, the need for a coordinated regional export strategy for Niagara’s business community is both timely and crucial,” said Walter Sendzik, CEO of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber said only 7 percent of Ontario’s small- and medium-sized companies are involved in exporting.
