SILVER CREEK – Appointments and resignations in preparation for the new school year consumed the agenda of the Silver Creek School Board on Wednesday evening.

Music teacher Nicole Zenns resigned, and Robert Oberst resigned as the modified wrestling coach.

Shannon Near’s appointment as a summer school teacher was approved. Near also accepted an appointment as the elementary curriculum coordinator

A half-time business teacher position held by Anthony Montoro was abolished, and his name was placed on the preferred eligibility list.

Also, elementary Principal Scott Rudnicki was granted tenure.

Janelle Lesher was appointed to a probationary appointment as the middle school Spanish teacher.

Daniel Foy was appointed boys varsity soccer coach.

In other matters, board members heard an update from Superintendent Daniel Liljanisch on the progress of construction on campus.

He said work is on schedule and expected to be done before the start of the school year.

Indoors, work is under way on heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, as well as the electrical system.
