PERRY – A pilot project offering free Wi-Fi service is up and running in parts of the downtown business district, the Perry Main Street Association reports.

The project, established with help from the Bank of Castile, the Perry Rotary Club, Sparrow Financial and private contributors, will be tested and evaluated for the next 18 months. Organizers say they will consider expanding coverage to other parts of the community, if appropriate.

“The benefits of having free access to Wi-Fi in our downtown are substantial,” says Adam Gullo, a member of the PMSA executive board. “For our businesses, they can offer immediate, no-cost perks to their customers. For visitors, they have full usability of their tablets or laptops without feeling like they are taking advantage of our businesses.”
