Zachary H. Brunetto, of Angola, was charged with burglary in the second degree and petit larceny after he was found taking items from cars and a home on Hunt Avenue in Eden early Thursday morning,, according to town police.

At around 3:30 a.m., the Town of Eden Police – with assistance from Erie County Sheriffs – responded to a complaint of a white male entering and taking property from vehicles on Hunt. While checking the area on foot, an officer saw Brunetto exit the front door of an occupied Hunt Avenue residence and flee into the backyard of a neighboring home, police said.

The officer ordered Brunetto to stop, and Brunetto did not comply. The officer chased him and found Brunetto had stolen an iPhone from inside the Hunt Avenue residence, along with a small amount of cash and coins from vehicles.

At arraignment, Town of Eden Court Justice Michael Cooper set bail at $25,000 and Brunetto was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
