While the interior of a new music and band section of Tonawanda High/Middle School is “99 percent complete,” frequent rain has delayed the installation of a roof to the wing by almost two weeks.
Representatives from the capital improvement firms supervising Tonawanda’s renovation told the School Board about the delays Tuesday night during a regular meeting. Gloria Ciminelli from Pike Construction said the roof was about 11 days behind schedule, but she still believes it will be completed by the end of June.
Dave Kenyon from Wendel said the interior of the addition is nearly finished, and he’s heard good reviews about the new music rooms. The renovations are part of the district’s $11.9 million capital project.
“The acoustics are very good,” Kenyon said. “Everybody seems to like the area very well in there.”
