The state Board of Regents on Tuesday formally approved a plan to expand the Charter School for Applied Technologies and to move its middle school students into the former Holy Angels Academy site in Buffalo.

The Town of Tonawanda charter school plans to add 690 more students during the next six years to bring its enrollment to 2,365 by the 2019-20 school year. The school’s sixth-, seventh- and eighth graders are scheduled to move into the former Holy Angels site by fall.

The vote Tuesday formalized a committee vote taken Monday and was the final Board of Regents approval needed for the plan.
