Community Charter School, which in March lost its yearlong battle with state officials to stay open, is putting its school building and other possessions up for public auction.
The 42,000-square-foot school building, located on 2.18 acres of land at 404 Edison Ave. near the Kensington Expressway and Eggert Road, will be sold on-site at 10 a.m. on July 12 through Cash Realty & Auctions.
The two-story brick building includes 19 classrooms, 14 offices, a gymnasium with stage, a kitchen and cafeteria, a main office, a school store, a nurse’s office and three janitor rooms. Bidders must bring a $50,000 deposit in cash or certified funds.
A separate auction of the building’s contents to the highest bidder will follow immediately after the real estate sale, with items sold on a piece-by-piece basis. That includes technology such as computers, whiteboards, printers and servers, as well as athletic, science, music, food-service, kitchen and classroom equipment, plus furniture and fixtures. Online bidding will also be offered through www.bidspotter.com, and more information and photos are available at www.cashauction.com.
