Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, will host a “telephone town hall” with constituents Monday to discuss new education standards in New York State schools.
New York State, which adopted the Common Core State Standards in 2010, is one of 45 states that have started implementing the nationwide learning benchmarks.
Collins, in a written statement, said his office continues to be contacted by parents and educators with concerns about the learning standards. The telephone conference is designed to bring people in his district together to discuss the issue.
Information on participating in the teleconference is available at chriscollins.house.gov.
