Three public meetings to receive input for the outer harbor blueprint being developed for the fall are being held next week. The meetings are:
-- Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., WNED Studios, 140 Lower Terrace.
-- Thursday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Stanley Makowski Early Childhood Center, 1095 Jefferson Ave.
-- Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., Old First Ward Community Center, 62 Republic St.
They are being held by Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, with help from Perkins+Will, a San Francisco-based planning and architecure firm.
“We are determined to listen to what our residents want to see in the blueprint for Buffalo’s last frontier,” said Robert Gioia, the waterfront agency’s chairman. “These meetings are open to everyone and are designed to solicit varied opinions and guidance from the region’s people. The design team is open to all suggestions within our guiding principles.”
The area concerns about 160 acres of waterfront land that is being transferred to the agency from Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.
