JAMESTOWN – Participants in the Jamestown Audubon Center and Sanctuary’s Wilk 5K Run set for July 25 have until July 17 to pre-register.

The entry fee will be discounted for those who sign up by the deadline, and early registrants receive a free event t-shirt as well. The pre-registration fee is $20. Those registering after July 17 or on race day will be charged $25. Friends of the Nature Center receive a 10 percent discount.

Proceeds from the run will go to help with the Audubon’s care of a non-releasable bald eagle named Liberty. The bird suffered muscle damage to one of its wings preventing Liberty from flying well enough to hunt in the wild.

The run will follow a trail through the Audubon’s sanctuary. Runners of various age groups, including those 12 and under to those over 60 years old, are invited to paricipate. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in different male and female running categories.

The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is located at 1600 Riverside Road, a quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren, Pa.
