Two handguns and $1,000 in cash were stolen in a smash-and-grab theft from a Geneva, Ohio, man’s sport utility vehicle Saturday as it was parked at the Anchor Bar, 1047 Main St., Central District police said.

The thief broke a rear passenger window of a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and grabbed a backpack that contained the money, the two guns, two knives, a medical kit and a shirt. The thief also made off with a leather purse, police said.

The thief was last seen running east on North Street toward Buffalo General Medical Centerl. The total loss was estimated at $5,000.
