TOWN OF NIAGARA – Two Niagara Falls men were arrested Saturday evening on an all-terrain vehicle stolen recently from the Oakfield area, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.

The ATV was stopped just before 8 p.m. in the 3700 block of Lockport Road after the driver spun out while trying to evade authorities, deputies said. The driver, Terrence L. Davis, 19, of Townsend Place, was issued four traffic tickets, including one for unlawful operation of an ATV on a highway. David J. Hendrickson Jr., 19, of 17th Street, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Meanwhile, in Wheatfield, a Shawnee Road resident foiled the scheme of two men to steal an all-terrain vehicle from a neighbor about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Deputies observed the would-be thieves running off after a 2008 Polaris ATV had been hot-wired and pushed to the middle of the yard, The two also had removed a 4-foot section of chain-link fence in anticipation of their getaway, deputies said.
