Three people were listed in serious condition at the Erie County Medical Center late Sunday, following two shootings on the East Side on Saturday.
Kiara Spearman, 24, of Buffalo, was the most severely injured of four victims early Saturday morning during a drive-by shooting at a Jefferson Avenue bar. She was shot in the right lower abdomen and was upgraded to serious condition Sunday.
Three people were injured in another shooting near St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Townsend and Peckham streets shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, Two men opened fire in front of 67 Townsend, according to police reports.
Brandon Washington, 21, was shot in the mouth. He ran to a nearby house, where a woman assisted him. He then ran back to the scene of the shooting, where police told him to sit on the curb and wait for an ambulance, police said. He was listed in serious condition in intensive care on Sunday, as was Jovanna Davis.
Davis, 19, was sitting in her vehicle in front of 67 Townsend at the time of the shooting, police said. She was shot in the left arm as one man shot into her car. The bullet went through her arm and lodged in her chest.
A third victim in the Townsend shooting, Charles Washington, 22, was listed in stable condition Sunday. He was shot in the neck, back and buttocks. Police said he was found lying on his stormac in the street at 57 Townsend.
The attackers fled in a black minivan, police said.
