A national pro-life group has won the right to continue its free speech lawsuit against the University at Buffalo.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott rejected UB’s motion to dismiss the allegations by the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, which organized a pro-life rally and display outside the student union in April.

The group claims the rally, a university-approved event, was disrupted when pro-choice supporters showed up and began waving white sheets in front of the display and otherwise interfering with its pro-life message.

Scott’s decision is subject to approval by a district court judge.
