LOCKPORT - A five-time felon was sentenced Wednesday to two to four years in state prison for injuring a parole officer while resisting arrest Sept. 29.

The sentence that Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas imposed on Jimmy R. Carpenter, 40, of Niagara Falls will run consecutively to about a year he has left on a parole violation for his 2006 burglary conviction.

Carpenter pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault.
