TOWN OF LOCKPORT – A DWI charge lodged early Thursday was just the tip of some legal woes for a Buffalo man.
Alfredo A. Gonzalez, 43, of Niagara Street, was arrested after Niagara County sheriff’s deputies found him fixing a flat tire on his BMW after hitting a mailbox in the 6600 block of Tonawanda Creek Road, authorities said.
Deputies also said they learned Gonzalez’s driver’s license had been suspended for an insurance lapse, and that he had two outstanding arrest warrants from Minnesota, alleging identity theft. He also had an out-of-state driver’s license and a credit card that did not belong to him, deputies said.
Gonzalez was charged with driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. The investigation is continuing.
