OLEAN – A fire that broke out this morning at Olean’s Cutco plant caused between $75,000 and $100,000 in damage to the plant’s polishing and dust-handling units, a fire official said.

The fire, which broke out about 9:15 a.m., was declared under control by 10:09 a.m., said the official, who added that the fire did not appear to be suspicious. There also was no structural damage, the official added.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
