A Buffalo man faces felony DWI, resisting arrest charges after state police Tuesday observed him driving erratically on the southbound I-190.
Mark D. Abbott, 57, of Buffalo exhibited clear signs of intoxication when he was stopped and questioned just before 8 a.m., according to state police, who also said Abbott refused to cooperate with the investigation. When a state trooper arrested him for DWI, Abbott physically resisted and attempted to flee the scene before he was apprehended, police said.
Abbott was charged with felony DWI after having had two previous felony DWI convictions. He also was charged with resisting arrest, 2nd degree obstruction of governmental administration and refusing to take a breathalyzer test
Abbott was arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court and held at the Erie County Holding Center without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Buffalo City Court at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
