NIAGARA FALLS – The pickup of an off-duty Niagara County sheriff’s deputy was broken into as he worked out at the new LA Fitness facility on Niagara Falls Boulevard Thursday afternoon, police said.
Among items stolen were ammunition, blank traffic tickets and notes from recent criminal reports, police said.
A window of the 2012 Ford F-150 was broken out between 4 and 5:15 p.m. in a parking lot of the workout center, said police, who noted at last one other car break-in has occurred at the business since it recently opened.
Stolen from the pickup were three Colt AR-15 handgun magazines loaded with 58 rounds of .223-caliber ammunition and a gunshot trauma kit. The loss was estimated at $800.
