WILSON – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies responding to an unrelated call discovered three grow rooms in the basement of a Shadigee Road home, 14 marijuana plants, a drying room in the attic, and five pounds of processed marijuana last weekend.

Lon C. Sherrie, 49, of that address was charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful growing of cannabis, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance outside of its original container, and endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to Niagara County Jail on $2,500 bail after being arraigned in Town of Wilson Court.

A sheriff’s patrol responded to the address on Saturday, on a report that a child in the house had possibly ingested some type of pain medication.

Deputy Jared Ander said he detected the odor of marijuana in the house and the Niagara County Drug Task Force responded with a warrant and found the alleged marijuana growing operation.
