Two people were arrested early today in Buffalo and charged with a smash-and-grab burglary at a North Collins convenience store, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported.
Deputies responded at about 12:15 a.m. to an alarm at the store, at an undisclosed location. They found the front glass door had been damaged, and merchandise scattered about inside.
Witnesses gave deputies a description of two suspects and their vehicle, which was sent to all local police agencies. Two men and vehicle, along with stolen cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets, were located a short time later in the Ferry-Fillmore area of Buffalo by city police.
Joshua M. Bish, 24, of West Seneca, and Alexis Andrews, 19, of Angola, were charged with felony counts of burglary, grand larceny, criminal mischief and possession of stolen property, as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of burglar’s tools. They were taken to the county Holding Center pending arraignment.
The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by other police agencies that said the two are suspects in similar incidents in their jurisdictions, deputies said.
