CAMBRIA – A man told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies he went to his 79-year-old mother’s house Wednesday morning for a lift assist and found some things out of place, including his mother’s purse, which he found wrapped up in a blanket with the wallet missing.
The wallet contained a credit card, insurance card and about $970 in cash. Also stolen was a change jar which contained about $40.
The mother told her son that she let three salesmen into her house in the 4200 block of North Ridge Road the previous evening, but didn’t remember what business they were from, if they had a vehicle or what their names were.
She said the three men were inquiring about her family tree. She said she had let them in the living room where her purse was located.
