NIAGARA FALLS – A 26-year-old man told police Sunday morning that he was stabbed in the leg by an unknown man at 16th Street and Pine Avenue.

Niagara Falls police interviewed the unnamed victim in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center before he was transferred to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for an “extensive injury” on his right leg, according to police reports.

The victim said he had been at a party in the 1900 block of Falls Street when a fight broke out in the alley. He said a man stabbed him from behind with an unknown object. He said a cab was arranged to bring him to the hospital, but he did not know who arranged it and what cab company brought him there. A woman who was at the hospital with the victim said the party had been in the 1800 block of Pine Avenue. She told police the victim had gone outside to smoke a cigarette and she found he had been stabbed when she went outside to check on him.

Police who checked the area were unable to find a crime scene and people in the area said they did not hear a party or a fight.
