NIAGARA FALLS – A North Avenue man was injured when three armed men broke into his home, pistol whipped him in the head, then robbed him at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The 25-year-old victim said his infant son was upstairs sleeping when he answered a knock on the door and was met by the three bandits, one of them holding a handgun to his face as they entered the house. The victim lay on a bed next to his son as the bandits ransacked a second-floor bedroom. Police said one of the bandits held a buck knife to his neck and demanded money.

The intruders stole a portable game system, a Nook tablet and several items of jewelry. The loss was estimated at $2,640, according to police.
