TOWN OF NIAGARA – A 34-year-old Niagara Falls man who ran away from a trooper Tuesday afternoon was arrested and remains in Niagara County Jail on drug charges.
A trooper pulled over Olu Z. Robertson for a seat belt violation on Lockport Road in the Town of Niagara.
When the trooper asked him to get out of his vehicle because of the smell of marijuana inside the car, Robertson ran away.
He was arrested in the town with the help of other troopers, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies and Niagara Town police officers.
He was carrying a large bag of marijuana and cocaine when found by the police, authorities said.
In addition to felony counts of criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance, he faces resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana charges. He is scheduled to appear in Niagara Town Court next week.
