NIAGARA FALLS – A 24th Street man is in custody for his alleged role in the armed robbery of the 7-Eleven at 2620 Niagara St. about 9 p.m. Monday.

Jacob S. Ruhl, 23, was arraigned Tuesday in City Court on a charge of first-degree robbery and held in Niagara County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Police said the suspect demanded cash from both registers and threatened clerk. Though the bandit acted as if he had a gun in his waistband, no gun was visible, police said.

When the clerk froze, police said, and failed to hand over cash, the robber fled empty-handed.
