NIAGARA FALLS – Police responding to a call of shots fired found a man at 16th Street and Ferry Avenue shooting towards his own house just after 7: 30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers took cover, drew their guns and began yelling commands for the shooter to drop his weapon.

Jeremy M. Eberly, 31, of Ferry Avenue complied and was taken into custody.

He told officers there were people in his house with handguns and in his bushes and another taking cover behind his car. Eberly was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.

Detectives secured the handgun which had one round in the chamber and six more in the magazine.

A check of the house found no damage and no injuries.
