LOCKPORT – A 33-year old Lockport man was treated for an injury in Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport after he said he shot himself in the ankle at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday in his mobile home on South Transit Road.

The victim said he was shooting the gun, a CO2 powered BB gun, at a small target in his living room. He said he must have miscounted the number of BBs. He said he thought he emptied the gun and sat down the gun on his lap and pulled the trigger, causing a BB to hit his right ankle.

The victim’s fiancee who was present when he injured himself confirmed his explanation, according to deputies.
