TOWN OF CHAUTAUQUA — A Lakewood man faces a felony charge of driving while intoxicated Saturday after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies received reports that the man’s Jeep was weaving all over the road.
James S. Edington, 53, was additionally charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; driving without headlights; no taillights; failure to keep right; and failure to stay in his lane following a traffic stop shortly before 9 p.m. on Route 394.
Deputies said Edington refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test at the sheriff’s office, where it was also discovered that he had previously been convicted of DWI within the past 10 years, which accounts for the felony charge against him. Edington also has a revoked driver’s license for a prior DWI, making his most recent arrest for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle a felony.
He was arraigned in Town of Chautauqua Court and held at the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.
