NIAGARA FALLS – A 52-year-old man said that when he arrived home just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, he found a door jamb broken and the refrigerator door open, with food out.

He told police that he left his house in the 3000 block of Falls Street at 5 a.m. and when he arrived home he found that someone had forced their way into the house and went through the refrigerator and the kitchen drawers, and took three jars of change from the bedroom, valued at $300; a Fuji camera, valued at $400; and $2,200 worth of jewelry, including a Harley Davidson ring, and three gold chains.

The loss was estimated at $2,900.
