CAMBRIA – A man and his wife said when they arrived home just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday they found smoke coming out of the house and discovered fire burning a hole in the floor of a 16-year-old boy’s room when they arrived home just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The couple, Michael A. and Cindy M. Sepielli of 4641 Lewiston-Cambria Townline Road, were evacuated safely, and Cambria and Pekin volunteer fire departments brought the fire under control. No structural damage was reported, but there was smoke damage, according to the Niagara County Sheriff ‘s Office.

At the insistence of Michael Sepielli, the teenager’s room was searched by members of the Niagara County Drug Task Force, who found suspected marijuana plants, a book about growing marijuana, rolling papers, a bong, suspected marijuana seeds, a scale and a safe, which were all confiscated by investigators.

Sepielli was taken to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston to be evaluated , according to deputies.

Deputies said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
