Four people were arrested over the weekend on drunken driving charges in Niagara, Erie and Chautauqua counties, including two arrested by State Police during a DWI checkpoint Saturday on River Road in Wheatfield.
Joseph C. Trapasso, 45, of Niagara Falls, was charged by trooper with felony driving while intoxicated after he refused to take a breath test. Dawn M. Wilson, 44, of the Town of Tonawanda, was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI after a breath test showed she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Orchard Park police arrested Amy Wolkiewicz, 42, of Blasdell, at 4:45 a.m. Sunday on charges of DWI, aggravated DWI, marijuana possession, having an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and changing lanes unsafely. Police said she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent when they stopped her on Route 20.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies arrested Rachael M. Palkovic, 22, of Erie, Pa., about 1 a.m. Sunday when they noticed her driving erratically on South Erie Street in Mayville. She was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, speeding, failing to keep right and crossing hazardous markings.
