NIAGARA FALLS – A homeowner in the 6000 block of Stephenson Avenue told police Tuesday that $5,000 worth of diamonds were stolen in a burglary on Monday night.

The 46-year-old woman said she and her husband went out for a walk at 8 p.m. and when they returned 15 minutes later they found a window open and a front door unlocked.

They told police that $5,000 worth of diamonds, as well as a $1,000 ring, a $1,200 necklace and a $1,200 shotgun were stolen.
