LOCKPORT – Vandals who were in the east end of Lockport ringing doorbells and damaging lawn ornaments between Saturday night and Sunday morning are believed to be responsible for causing $800 damage to the DeSales Catholic School sign at 6914 Ridge Road, according to Niagara County sheriff’s deputies.

Facilities manager Richard W. Klee called the Niagara County Sheriff Department on Monday morning after the school sign, located northeast of the school, was damaged and will need to be replaced.

Klee said the staff is working on getting surveillance cameras around the school. The Niagara County Sheriff Department has increased checks of the area because of complaints from neighbors surrounding the schools.
