NIAGARA FALLS – A vacant house in the 3500 block of Highland Avenue was broken into and $5,000 worth of copper pipes were reported stolen on Wednesday.

The house is owned by a woman living in Houston, Texas who had been trying to sell the house.

Police found dry wall damaged in the upper and lower apartments and copper pipes removed. Damage to the walls was listed at $300.

A rear door which was boarded up and “barely secured” is believed to be the entry point, according to a police report.
