MAYVILLE – A car crashed into a horse and buggy in the Chautauqua County town of Clymer, sending two people to a hospital and resulting in the arrest of a 67-year-old motorist, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Ann C. Beebe, 67, of Panama, was driving west on Route 474/West Main Street at about 7 p.m. Friday when she hit the westbound horse and buggy near the intersection of Wickwire Road.
Two adults and four children were riding in the buggy, deputies said. An adult woman and one child were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Erie, Pa., for treatment. The others were evaluated at the scene and didn’t require further treatment.

Deputies said Beebe was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable, failure to use due care while approaching a horse and imprudent speed approaching a horse. She was issued tickets to appear in Clymer Town Court.
Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues, deputies said.
