A City of Buffalo snowplow driver was arrested and suspended early Sunday morning after striking a building and a cab driver, police said.
James Evans, 47, of Buffalo, was driving a plow that struck a building near the intersection of Bailey and Arden Avenues about 5 a.m., according to Buffalo Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge. The plow then hit a cab driver near Eggert Road and Kay Street, DeGeorge said.
The driver was taken to Erie Councy Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken left hand, DeGeorge said.
Evans, meanwhile, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, criminal mischief and other charges, DeGeorge said. He was arrested at his home and has been supended without pay, pending a departmental review.
He will be arraigned Monday morning in Buffalo City Court.
