NIAGARA FALLS – A man threatened a clerk in a 7-Eleven store on Niagara Falls Boulevard on Sunday night, indicating that he had a gun and demanding money. When the clerk refused, the robber tried a different tactic – saying please. Both methods were unsuccessful, and the robber left empty-handed.

Police have been unsuccessful in locating the man.

The clerk at the convenience store at 9101 Niagara Falls Blvd. said the man approached the register just after 11 p.m., carrying a bag with what appeared to be the barrel of a long gun sticking out. The man pointed the bag at the clerk and said, “You know what I want.”

The clerk said he did not believe that it was a gun and told the man to leave. The suspect then tried a different approach, saying, “Can I please have the money?”

The clerk said that he told the robber to get out and that the man fled on foot.

The K-9 Unit of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office was called in but was unable to locate the man.

Detectives reviewed the security footage and described the suspect as a white male, possibly in his late 30s, about 6-feet-2 and 180 pounds, wearing a white rag or scarf to cover his face, dark sunglasses, a black hooded sweatshirt pulled up around his face, blue jeans with rips on both knees, and carrying a gray or dark-colored bag.
