YATES – A 24-year-old Lyndonville man was pronounced dead Wednesday night at Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital, hours after he lost control of his car traveling west on East Yates Center Road in the Town of Yates about 8 p.m., according to the State Police.

Paul V. Lauricella was rushed to the Rochester hospital by Mercy Flight but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. State Police said he lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and crossed the center line into the eastbound lane before going off the shoulder of the roadway and slamming against a tree on the driver’s side of his vehicle.
