Orchard Park Town Board members are pushing for a swift completion to the water main replacement on Timberlake Drive.
The street has had more than 25 water line breaks in 20 years, and the town is planning to go to bid this fall on a pipe replacement project.
“I don’t want somebody to wait through March to get a shovel in,” Councilman Eugene Majchrzak said.
Town Engineer Wayne Bieler said the town could specify the pipe work should start this fall, with several phases and the finishing touches to be completed next spring.
While the Erie County Water Authority supplies the water, the town is responsible for the upkeep on the lines.
