Orchard Park Town Board members will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2014 budget at 7 p.m. today ► Oct 16 ◄ in the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St.

Spending is up in the general fund by 14.68 percent and up in the public safety fund by 18 percent, but the tax rates would go up less than 2 percent.

The combined general, police and highway fund tax rate would be $5.96 per $1,000 of assessment for those living outside the Village of Orchard Park, an increase of 1.94 percent. The rate for those living inside the village would go up 1.78 percent to $6.30 per $1,000.
