A 67-year-old Orchard Park man was pronounced dead Monday in Mercy Hospital after a one-vehicle crash apparently caused by a medical emergency, Orchard Park police reported.

Frank Corsi was westbound on Jewett Holmwood Road, just east of Freeman Road, at about 9:15 a.m., when his vehicle went off the south side of the road, into a ditch, before crossing the road and running into trees on the north side, police said.

“It appears to us that he suffered some type of medical emergency before the crash,” Orchard Park Police Chief Mark Pacholec said.

Paramedics and EMTs from the Orchard Park Fire Company administered first aid and performed CPR at the scene.
