TELLING TALES – For previous Buffalo Old First Ward reunions, organizers have collected nicknames, family names and special places. For this year’s reunion Sept. 13, they’re looking for colorful stories and favorite memories of the neighborhood.

TIME OF NEED – Mike Fridmann, of Lancaster, who is self-employed, is still recovering from the serious injuries he suffered last September when his motorcycle collided with a car turning onto Southwestern Boulevard in Orchard Park.

EXPRESS YOURSELF – Veterans, survivors of traumatic brain injury and their families are invited to join in Making Your Mark, a community art project, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Headway of Western New York, 2635 Delaware Ave., just south of Kenmore Avenue.

Everyone will have a chance to make a mark in any fashion on a communal canvas, which then will be cut up and mounted on canvas frames to be displayed at public events throughout the summer.
