FAB EVENING – The Beatles tribute band BackBeat ’64 will headline the sixth annual gala to benefit South Buffalo’s Dog Ears Bookstore and Cafée from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road.

The evening also will feature a “Taste of the City,” with offerings from more than 20 local restaurants, and a basket auction of Beatles memorabilia, including an autographed item by original Beatles drummer Pete Best.

PASTA TIME – The Grand Island Lions Club holds its 45th annual spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the ballroom at Byblos Niagara Resort and Spa, 100 Whitehaven Road.
