ST. PATTY’S PREVIEW – The Valley Community Association will gear up for its 21st annual “Old Neighborhood” St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Valley and Old First Ward on March 15 with its fundraiser party from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Valley Community Center, 93 Leddy St., near South Park Avenue and Elk Street.

Admission is $20 and includes draft beer and pop. Canned beer and wine will be for sale. Entertainment will be provided by the South Buffalo Irish band Crikwater, which has just released its first album. The association also will announce its parade marshal and memorial dedications.

MS. GOODWRENCH – WNY Autocare will celebrate National Women’s Day on Saturday by teaching women the basics of car care so they can better communicate with their mechanics.

The free demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eastern Hills Mall will include how to check tire pressures and easy ways to check cars for problems. They also will be giving out free inspections, and there will be contests and prizes.

HEAVENLY SOUNDS – Members of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will join with the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir for a special Masterworks Worship Service at 11 a.m. Sunday in the church at 724 Delaware Ave. For the past four years during Lent, the church has been offering a special classical music service in place of its regular worship.
