The Nature Conservancy’s Central & Western New York Chapter named Andrew Wheatcraft critical lands director. Wheatcraft was educational facilities planner for Rochester City School District since 1996. Read to Succeed Buffalo was awarded $31,500 in funding from the Buffalo Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Buffalo. This is the third consecutive year of a three-year, $60,000 investment by the Buffalo Rotary Foundation to expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, an international program launched in 1996. Locally it provides one free, age-appropriate book per month to registered children living in the RTSB Literacy Zone (14215 ZIP code) from birth until age 5. Currently more than 1,000 children are enrolled and about 10,770 books have been distributed since the program launched in Buffalo in 2012.
