Sister Kathleen Sholette, a former assistant dean and trustee of D’Youville College and former head of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, died Feb. 4 in St. Joseph Manor, Meadowbrook, Pa. She was 83.
A native of Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, she was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a 1952 graduate of D’Youville College, where she studied nursing.
She also earned a master’s degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in 1966.
She entered the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart in 1953 and professed her final vows in 1959.
She served as a registered nurse at A.B. Hepburn Hospital from 1952 to 1964, including time as head nurse and nursing supervisor.
She was named assistant dean of the School of Nursing at D’Youville College in 1966, a post she held until 1970.
Sister Kathleen returned to Ogdensburg as administrator of St. Joseph’s Home.
She served on the D’Youville board of trustees from 1974 to 1984.
She also served in the top leadership post, secretary general, for the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart from 1989 to 1998 in Yardley, Pa.
Survivors include a brother, Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Friday in the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart Motherhouse chapel in Yardley.
