Roy E. Lorenz, of Buffalo, a World War II veteran and the longtime owner of LeRoy Heating and Service Co., died April 13 at the Weinberg Campus in Getzville after a long illness. He was 89.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Lorenz was a lifelong resident of the area. He was educated at Masten Park High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was an electrician’s mate and was stationed on Midway Island during World War II.
Mr. Lorenz was the owner of LeRoy Heating, where he worked from 1957 until his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Lorenz was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Swormville. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Geraldine M. Jasco; two daughters, Susan C. Marshall and Christina O. Maddox; and two sons, Douglas L. and Roy J.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville.
