Rosalie Amato, of Buffalo, a retired home economics supervisor for the Buffalo Board of Education, died Monday in ElderWood Nursing Home, Cheektowaga.
She was 93.
Miss Amato earned her master’s degree in education from Buffalo State College and worked for the city’s School Board from 1958 to 1973.
She was born in Racalmuto, Sicily, lived much of her life North Buffalo and was known for sponsoring many children overseas.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Margaret Catholic Church, 1395 Hertel Ave.
